The County is seeking both fully insured and self-funded proposals for the medical and dental coverage. Currently the County has a fully insured medical and dental plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas through the Texas Association of Counties(T AC). 2. Where applicable, all companies submitting proposals must be licensed by the State of Texas and be permitted to contract with the State or any of its subdivisions. All insurance carriers must be rated A- or better by AM Best Company. Proposers who fall under the guidelines of the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791, Title 7, Government Code, will be acceptable. 3. Proposals must be clearly explained and identified. All costs, including optional programs, must be clearly stated and summarized. Exceptions to or deviations from the specifications must be explicitly identified. Proposals must be prepared in triplicate and submitted, by 2:00 p.m., August 8, 2005, to Judge Mike Pfeifer, Calhoun County Judge, 1300 Virginia, Port Lavaca TX 77979. 4. TPNCarriers should submit proposals through a selected agent/agency. Submitting proposals through multiple agents/agencies will be disqualified. 5. All of the walls are up, electrical work is being done, chiller work is being done and the final finish is being done on the outside walls. Commissioner Balajka asked the Commissioners if they would go by and look at the outside walls to see what the final finish is going to look like. Judge Pfeifer would like to know what date we are looking at for moving in. He has been asked by Tim Smith, Jail Administrator due to the fact Tim is trying to coordinate hiring and training new jailers. Mark said by August we should know more about a move in date. Commissioner Balajka stated that he feels by December the Jail will be opened. Commissioner Balajka also stated that the water softener that was going to be installed in the jail has been taken out of the plans and this will be a savings of $20,000. ISSUES RELATING TO THE CALHOUN COUNTY COURTHOUSE RENOVATIONS PROJECT: Mark reported to the Court regarding the issues relating to the Calhoun County Courthouse Renovations Project he said that he was very please with the work that was done by A&A Constructors they were easy to work with and they completed right on time and on budget. The holding cells are in and they were accepted yesterday and the Jail Commission will be here on Friday for final review, Mark feels that the relocation and move was a complete success, ACCOUNTS ALLOWED - COUNTY: Claims totaling $1,232,573.21 were presented by the County Treasurer and after reading and verifying same a Motion was made by Commissioner Galvan and seconded by Commissioner Pfeifer that said claims be approved for payment. were put up in front of the Courthouse about the move. e The Court recessed until 12 noon for lunch with the Calhoun County Extension Service to hear Yearly Reports. COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL ADJOURN AND WILL RECONVENE AT THE BAUER BUILDING AT THE CALHOUN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS FOR "LUNCH WITH EXTENSION". AT THAT TIME THE COUNTY EXTENSION AGENT WILL PRESENT TO THE COURT A REPORT OF EXTENSION PROGRAMS CONDUCTED IN CALHOUN COUNTY DURING THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS: The Extension Service prepared lunch for the Commissioners and after the luncheon Zan Matthies, Jr. CEA - AG/NR thanked the Court on behalf of all the staff.
