BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 10th day of September, A.D., 2008 there was begun and holden in the
Commissioners' Courtroom in the County Courthouse in the City of Port Lavaca, said County and State,
at 10:00 am, a Special Meeting of the Commissioners' Court within said County and State, and there
were present on this date the following members of the Court, to-wit:
Michael J. Pfeifer
Roger C. Galvan
Vern Lyssy
Neil E. Fritsch
Kenneth W. Finster
Wendy Marvin

Commissioner, Precinct 2
Commissioner, Precinct 3
Commissioner, Precinct 4

Thereupon the following proceedings were had:
CONFERENCE CALL WITH JOHN METZ - NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE:
The Court listened to the 10 a.m. conference call with John Metz with the National Weather Service
and after discussion with other Local Officials the Court made the decision to Order a Voluntary
Evacuation. A Motion was made by Judge Pfeifer and seconded by Commissioner Fritsch to Order a
Voluntary Evacuation for Calhoun County, Texas. Commissioners Galvan, Lyssy, Fritsch, Finster and
Judge Pfeifer all voted in favor.
PROCLAMATION
VOLUNTARY EVACUATION
WHEREAS, Calhoun County Commissioners' Court has determined that there is
an imminent threat of injury, or loss of life or property resulting from
HURRICANE IKE
WHEREAS, the Commissioners' Court of Calhoun County has determined that
measures must be taken to protect people.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED that CALHOUN COUNTY is under a County
Wide VOLUNTARY EVACUATION as of 10:30 A.M. on September 10, 2008.

after discussion the Court made the decision to Order a 24 hour Curfew from the time the Tropical
Storm force winds strike Calhoun County and it will remain in effect until 72 hours after landfall of
Hurricane Ike or until Commissioners' Court suspends this Order.

1. CURFEW
(a) A person shalL not remain or travel upon anypublic or
privat~p.ropertyin the following area(s):
(b) Subsection (a) shall not apply to:
( 1) a person authorized by the Emergency
Management Director to assist ill the production
of the health, safety, or welfare of the Ptlblic;Of
(2) a person who remains or travels upon private
property which is owned by him or upon which
the person has been invited.

(b) Subsection (a) shall not apply to a person authorized by
localgovernrnent officials to assistin the protection of
the health, safety, or welfare of the public.
3. PENAL TIES
(a)Theseregulations shall have the effect of ordinances when
duly filed with the County Clerk. .
(b) A person who violates any provision of these regulations,
upon conviction, is punishable by a fine of not more than five
hundred dollars ($500.00).
4. EMERGENCY
This order shall be in effect 24 hours a day from the time
Tropical StoI'rn force winds strike Calhoun County and remain
in effect until 72 hours after landfall of Hurricane Ike or until
the Commissioners' Court suspends this Order, and it is
accordingly so ordained.
