The vinyl vapor barrier shall have a nominal thickness of 4 mils. b. the composition material of the facing, adhesive, and fiberglass blanket shall have a flame spread rating of 25 or less as rated by the Underwriters Laboratories. c. The density of the fiberglass blanket shall be 0.60 pounds per cubic foot. d. Insulation shall be provided in rolls, out to the specific lengths required for proper installation. Rolls for the roof shall be of continuous lengths for buildings up to 120' wide while the rolls for the wall shall be in multiple increments of necessary lengths to be out to the proper length in the field. All rolls shall be clearly marked with the proper length and shall be individually protected in clear poly bags. e. The thickness of the fiberglass blanket shall be 3" (R-10) ADD: Paragraph 13. Install new 14 Gauge Z-girt (Approx 115 LF) along Bauer Exhibit roof line, including angle attachments (LUMP SUM). 2) Jody reviewed the required forms to be submitted with the Bid, Section 00300-4. 3) Jody pointed out that the project must be completed and ready for payment within 90 days from the Notice to Proceed and that liquidated damages are set at $300/day. 4) Jody brought attention the various project requirements and Wage Rates required. 15) Jody explained that after the contract award, any Change Orders will be required to be brought to the Commissioner's Court for approval prior to the Change Order being executed. Bidders were asked to please notify the engineer immediately if they see anything that they think needs clarification or a separate bid item for. If such concerns are warranted, another Addendum could be issued with a bid postponement, and thus reduce the chance of a Change Order after award. 6) Jody reviewed the existing Addendum No. I with the Bidders and stated that Addendum 2 will be issued to reflect the discussions of and any changes resulting from this Mandatory Pre -Bid meeting. Addendum No. 2 will be considered for approval by the Commissioners Court on June 25. Jody mentioned items that were already scheduled to be included in Addendum No. 2: Roof Insulation Specifications, which were left out of the specifications and some additional wall girt replacement 7) Jody pointed out that the bids are due in Judge Pfeifer's office on the 3`a floor of the Courthouse by 10:00 am on Thursday, July 2. Bids will be publicly opened and read at that time. 8) The meeting was then opened to questions. The following questions were asked and answered as follows: o Are the proposed roof vents to be operable? i.e. have the ability to open and close? Yes. The specified roof vents have a chain to open and close the vents o Engineer was asked to consider a pre -formed Ridge cap as opposed to what is shown in the drawings. (specifications do indicate a pre formed Ridge cap and has been clarified in Addendum No. 2) ® Are the joints of the stainless steel gutter to be welded? Yes. 8) The meeting moved out to the Show barn area. The following observations and discussions took place. ® It was noted that the existing wall girts were "C" girts, not "Z"'s as shown on the plans. ® It was noted that there was some electrical conduit that would need to be slightly rerouted to avoid conflict with the proposed new wall girts. A licensed electrician must be utilized to reroute the conduit as necessary to avoid a conflict with the new wall girts. ® It was discussed that one additional wall girt needed to be added between one bay and this would be reflected in a revised detail in Addendum No. 2. ® The question was asked whether panels could be lapped? TAC RMP provides basic limits under General Liability of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 per claim. A Member may purchase additional optional limits for an additional contribution, which include the basic limits and are not in addition to them. The significantly smaller contribution for the additional optional limits (approximately one-third the cost of the basic coverage) is reflective of the combination of the two limits of liability when additional limits are purchased. Limits, Aggregates and Contributions are outlined on the Contribution and Coverage Declarations issued each renewal period. Prior to January 1, 2015, both the basic limits and any additional coverage appeared on the Declarations and the contributions assessed for each were listed separately. In 2015, the Declarations form was updated to reflect a single entry for either the basic limits or the additional limit purchased by a Member. Hopefully this will eliminate any confusion about the limits of liability for a Member's General Liability coverage. As you are aware, Calhoun Comity has purchased fiom TAC RMP an increased limit of $1,000,000 and paid the additional contribution for 2013, 2014, and 2015. TAC will pay any reported claims occurring during these periods up to $1,000,000 per person or occurrence up to an aggregate of $1,000,000. This means that the County has coverage in excess of the statutory limits per person or occurrence should damages exceed the statutory limits. Students continue to use practical skills with basic tools and teamwork to complete their vessels. May 7: Planning and issues meeting for Matagorda -Calhoun counties was organized and hosted by Bill Balboa, the Matagorda Sea Grant agent. Cummins attended to learn more about how Calhoun County could partner with Matagorda to have shovel -ready restoration projects for future funding. Judge McDonald spoke to the group of resource agency representatives and encouraged participation of all parties involved. Future steps include him reaching out to the county judges of Calhoun, Jackson, and Victoria. May 7: The Mariner 4-H Club meeting included Eric Taylor speaking about the roles and responsibilities of club officers and Cummins conducted a coffee -can ice cream activity. The students worked in pairs to mix and freeze their own container of vanilla ice cream which they enjoyed eating. May 11: Cooking with Seafood ended the 5-month series with 21 participants learning about the facts and fiction of Seafood. Sea Grant Seafood Business Specialist Dr. Russ Miget gave the educational presentation. Karen Lyssy demonstrated a "clean out your freezer" gumbo dish with rice provided by Jack LaBarge and Cummins grilled hybrid striped bass on the half shell. May 14-15: The 5ch annual career investigation field trip to Galveston for the OLG eight grade class was led by Cummins. Highlights included the Texas Maritime Academy bridge simulator at Texas A&M University and the National Marine Fisheries Service turtle facility for TED research. This trip helps expose the students to a variety of potential career and education opportunities as well as an appreciation for history, religion, architecture and diversity. I May 20: The Junior Master Gardener's at OLG planted peanuts. This group of third graders taught by Mrs. Tresa Martell has been a fabulous group of youth to work with through the 2014-15 school year. May 21: The boat launching at Little Chocolate Bayou Park concluded the seventh grade boat building project. All eleven boats floated! The youth did so well paddling their vessels in the duck pond; the boats were moved to the bayou for a second voyage. This experience helps get the youth outside and physically active. Boating is an amazing activity for youth and families and is not out of reach if done simply. The folding boat project not only teaches applied math and basic tool use, it leads to lessons in problem solving and physical science. May 26: Hope High School kayaking trip on Big Chocolate Bayou was held after being rescheduled due to heavy storms. May 27: Spring Faculty Conference for the southeast Extension Region was held at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg. The day included technology training and results from the Texas Community Futures Forum. May 28: Marine education with life skills students at Travis Middle School. Cummins visited these students with a variety of activities, including fish printing, backyard bass, and an ice table for fish identification.
