THE STATE OF TEXAS
BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 18th day of August, A.D., 2005 there was begun and holden
at the Memorial Medical Plaza in the City of Port Lavaca, said County and State, at 10:00 A,M., a
Special Term of the Commissioners' Court within said County and State, and there were present
on this date the foliowing members of the Court, to-wit:

Roger C. Galvan
Michael J, Balajka
Neil E. Fritsch
Kenneth W, Finster
Wendy Marvin

Commissioner, Precinct 1
Commissioner, Precinct 2
Commissioner, Precinct 3
Commissioner, Precinct 4
Deputy County Clerk
Commissioner Galvan gave the Invocation and Commissioner Finster led the Pledge of Aliegiance.
Thereupon the follOWing proceedings were had:
DISCUSS 2006 CALHOUN COUNTY TAX RATE. TAKE RECORD VOTE ON TAX RATE AND
SCHEDULE PUBUC HEARINGS:
A Motion was made by Judge Pfeifer and seconded by Commissioner Finster to leave the tax rate
at 0.521000/$100 and schedule the Public Hearings for Tax Rate on August 29th @ 10:00 am &
September 8th 2005 @ 10 am. Commissioners Galvan, Balajka, Fritsch, Finster and Judge Pfeifer
all voted in favor.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Dora Garcia, Elections Administrator spoke to the Court in regards to combining voting precincts.
Commissioner Finster said he had only one concern and that is the Water Control District stay
where it is for voting and Commissioner Balajka feels that at this time we just ieave the voting
places the way they are. Dora would like to know when the decision on the new voting machines
would be made, Judge Pfeifer recommended getting together with the Commissioners and
visiting, At this time no action can be taken on either combining voting precincts or decisions on
new voting machines,
