BE IT REMEMBERED, that on this 5th day of December, A.D., 2006 there was begun and
holden in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Memorial Medical Plaza in the City of Port Lavaca,
said County and State, at 9:00 A.M., a Special Term of the Commissioners' Court within said
County and State, and there were present on this date the following members of the Court, to-
wit:

Thereupon the follOWing proceedings were had:
Roger Galvan gave the Invocation and Commissioner Finster led the Pledge of Allegiance.
DISCUSS PARTNERSHIP WITH CALHOUN COUNTY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
FOR VICTORIA COLLEGE SATELLITE CAMPUS:
Mr. Nichols, Calhoun County Independent School District Superintendent spoke in regards to the
partnership with Calhoun County ISD and Victoria College Satellite Campus. He presented a plan
showing the renovations that will be done; this renovation is being done to the old Harrison
Elementary School Building. Calhoun County ISD has budgeted $250,000, GBRA has offered
labor and they have also spoke with Formosa about helping help. He stated they have also
spoke with the City of Port Lavaca about fixing the parking lot. Mr. Nichols ask the Court if there
was anyway the County could help it would be greatly appreciated. .
DISCUSS LETTER FROM TEXAS COMMISSIONER ON JAIL STANDARDS:
judge pfeifer reported that the Jail Commission sent a letter after inspecting the jail and reported
that we are in need of five more jailers. We currently have thirty jailers funded and twenty-eight
Jailers employed. After discussion the Court's decision was to fund a total of thirty-five jailers.

DISCUSS TELECOMMUNICATIONS UPGRADE FOR CALHOUN COUNTY:
Johnny Jank with Golden Crescent Communications was present to speak regarding the digital
radios for the Calhoun County Public Safety Agencies.
